Plymouth Argyle Fans Show Good Behaviour During Devon Derby

Plymouth Argyle fans have been praised for their good behaviour during the recent Devon Derby match against Exeter City. The match, which took place on August 10, ended with a resounding win for The Pilgrims, with a 2-0 score at Home Park.

Police Response Commended

The police response to the match has also been commended for keeping disruption to a minimum. Supt Ryan Doyle of Devon and Cornwall Police said that there were "no serious offences" during the course of the police-led operation, with "no officers and no fans injured".

Police Sprint Up Hill After Match

A video was shared on TikTok showing around 15-20 police officers, including two on horses, running up Pennycomequick Hill towards Plymouth Railway Station after the match had finished. It is not known if officers were running to an incident, or getting ahead of the train station rush before fans descended on the platforms.

Supt Doyle's Statement

Ahead of the match, Supt Doyle said that the police recognised the importance of the fixture to supporters but "a robust policing response will be taken for those who choose to misbehave, which could lead to arrests and potential banning orders".

Six Arrests Made

As it was, the game ended with a resounding win for The Pilgrims, walking away with a 2-0 score at Home Park. Supt Doyle said that there were "no serious offences" during the course of the police-led operation with "no officers and no fans injured". He added that "disruption was kept to a minimum" with just a total of six arrests - five for public order and one for an assault.
