Plymouth Argyle have loaned forward Freddie Issaka to National League club Gateshead until January. The 20-year-old, who holds the record as Argyle's youngest-ever first-team player, will spend the next four months in the fifth tier.
Issaka made his Plymouth debut aged just 15 years and 34 days in a match on 31 August 2021. He has since gained experience with loan spells at Bristol Rovers, where he made eight substitute appearances in League One, and at Truro City last season, featuring 14 times in the National League.
Seeking senior minutes
This move is designed to provide the young attacker with consistent senior football. With Plymouth sitting sixth in League One on 10 points and enjoying a two-game winning run, competition for places in the forward line is intense.
